Bamboozlers: Jack of Clubs
Take the coin out of the proverbial glass.
The Bet:
Place four toothpicks into a football goal formation to look like a glass with a stem. Place a penny in what would be the mouth of the glass (Fig. 1).
The object is to have the penny be on the outside of the glass after moving only two toothpicks. It is easy to move three toothpicks and have the penny on the outside of the glass, but most find it difficult when only allowed to move two toothpicks.
The Secret:

Most people’s reactions to this little bet is, “That is so clever!” or “You are so smart!” I’ll thank them and retort, “I have street smarts and there is only one thing that kept me out of college; and that was high school.”
