xmasbillFirst I’d like to say Happy Holidays to all of my visitors!  This month I will have done 30 shows or more.  It’s all good since I enjoy my job and make good money for doing it.  It’s amazing to me, even after all of these years, how my magic connects me to strangers.  The other night a little girl clung to my side for two hours because she’d never experienced magic up close.  Another party for strangers had them cheering my name and paying me to work overtime.  Needless to say, if I was monetarily wealthy I’d still perform my magic due to the way it makes me and my audience feel.  I’ve got lots of projects in the works so stay tuned!

carsonsI’ll be lecturing and performing at the Oklahoma City Cavalcade of Magic (Nov. 8-10).  Currently, I am laying out two books and working on releasing some effects for the magic market.  However, the most exciting thing for me this month is starting at a new gig called Carson’s Palace.  I’ll be amazing people there on Thursdays from 7-9pm.  Carson’s  is a restaurant, a night club and a sports bar with a 5-star menu and chef.  The atmosphere is extremely conducive to my close-up sleight of hand magic.

ouijaThis month marks the release of my new effect called The Ouija Card;  click the picture to the right for more information.  This month has me busy doing shows, making Ouija Cards, booking shows for the holiday season, and planning for my upcoming lecture at the Mr. Magic Convention in Little Rock, Arkansas on October 19th and 20th.  For more details about the convention please call Mr. Magic directly at 1-888-877-7249.

tomagicThus far I’ve been busy booking shows for this coming holiday season.  In my spare time, when I’m not performing or practicing, I’ve been working on my new book and new projects.  One project is due out the first week of October.  I think that this new spooky effect will do well with Halloween just around the corner.  Speaking of Halloween, be sure to visit my friend’s haunted mini-theme park in Terrell, TX. at www.thrillvania.com.

This month I attended the Midwest Magic Jubilee in St. Louis, Missouri.  I was fortunate to work along side one of my magic heroes Dan Fleshman.  Dan’s magic lecture was the first one that I witnessed in my youth.  It means a lot to me to rub elbows with those that I hold in high regard.  As a young man I can remember paying to attend these conventions to see the stars of magic.  Things have come full circle now that I am being paid to attend these conventions to lecture and perform.  While at the Midwest Magic Jubilee I made a little money, secured some new contacts, gained some experience, saw lots of wonderful magic, but most importantly made some great new friends.

What a great life I have.  Don’t you wish you were me?  I know I do!

hawaiiMy wife and I just returned from a 7 day cruise of the Hawaiian Islands.  Norwegian Cruise Line offers great evening shows, including magic and comedy.  The Norwegian Star is beautiful, but it’s beauty is paled by the splendor of Hawaii.  We visited the biggest islands by ship, van, bus and helicopter.  It’s definitely a vacation that we’ll never forget.  Hawaii truly is paradise on Earth!

This month I’ll be lecturing in Dallas at Le Theatre De Marionette inside of Northpark Mall.

z3One thing is for sure.. it is HOT here in Texas!!!  On top of all of my other shows, I’ve been doing magic outdoors at a Golf Camp once a week for kids of all ages.  Doing magic for kids can be challenging enough, but contending with the weather is another thing.  My cards want to stick, coins want to slip in my sweaty hands and the wind stirs up my allergies.  I must admit that I am a much better magician inside an air-conditioned room. 🙂 But then again I love a challenge, because it makes me a better performer!

On a more positive note- I just purchased a brand new car!  It’s a 2002 BMW Z3 Roadster.  Look out James Bond!

kchesneyMy first lecture tour was a success!  I learned a lot on the road while visiting New York, Canada, New Hampshire, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Delaware and Virginia.  I plan to tour again this Fall.  Upon my return I took a mini-Texas tour with GM/Chevrolet who was sponsoring the Kenny Chesney concert tour.  My job was to entertain early attendees and attract them to the Chevy booth.  Things couldn’t be busier- and to top it off, my wife and I celebrated our 10 year wedding anniversary this month!

pgemsLife is busy.  This month I celebrated my 32nd birthday.  I am still preparing things for my lecture tour in May.  My associate Shawn Ingram (creator of Astonish Mints) has volunteered to join me on my tour.  I know it’ll be a blast visiting fellow magicians in states I’ve never been to before.

My lecture note booklet  Precious Gems is hot of the press.  Typically at a magic lecture one will spend their hard earned money for a set of photo-copied notes with bad drawings.  Precious Gems is a bound 8.5 by 11″ booklet with fifty pages on nice paper, lots of photographs, and a glossary describing all of the sleight of hand terms.  Everything that I do in my lecture appears in these notes with the exception of the Diamond Deck and Astonish Mints (since you obviously need the props).  I think that for the money it is the most comprehensive set of notes out there.  If  you attend one of my lectures, and buy the notes, I think you’ll agree.

astonish mintsThis month marks the release of the new effect ASTONISH MINTS.  Astonish Mints was a collaboration between myself and Shawn Ingram.

This month I’ve been laying out my lecture notes and preparing to hit the road for my first tour.  The tour starts in May.  The first part of the tour will take me into the Northeast part of the United States.

slushBusiness is hopping!  Currently, I am planning my lecture tour.  As soon as I have more information about the tour I’ll post it on the website.  A friend and colleague of mine by the name of Shawn Ingram is about to become a shooting star in the magic world.  He and I are about to market a new effect that all working close-up magicians should find useful and astonishing. Our project is secret for the time being, but will be disclosed next month!  Also, be sure to look for the new booklet called Slush! Magic Tricks with Slush Powder by Royal Magic.  The booklet features my own routine called Fire & Ice.
