The Bet: Push ten coins and three glasses toward a friend. Wager that he cannot place an odd amount of coins into each glass.

The Secret: Drop three coins into the first glass. Drop another three coins into the next glass. Then drop the remaining four coins into the last glass.

Someone will typically chime in at this point and say, “Hey! The last glass has four coins in it which is an even number.” Respond by saying, “You have a tremendous grasp of the obvious. However, I am not finished.” Place one of the glasses with three coins into the glass with four coins (Fig. 1).

Technically, each glass now has an odd amount of coins inside of it.
